چکیده
The millimeter-wave (mmW) communications is a key enabling technology in 5G to provide ultra-high throughput. Current mmW technologies rely on analog phased arrays realize beamforming gain and overcome high path loss. However, due limited number of simultaneous beams that can be created with analog/hybrid antenna arrays, the overheads beam training scheduling become bottleneck for emerging networks need support large users low latency applications. This paper introduces rainbow-link, novel multiple access protocol, achieve massive connectivity by exploiting wide bandwidth at frequencies true-time-delay array architecture frequency dependent capability. In proposed design, network infrastructure equipped simultaneously steer different resource blocks towards distinct directions covering entire cell sector. Users or devices, narrowband receiver either single small array, connect based their angular positions selecting resources within rainbow allocation. Rainbow-link combined contention-based grant-free eliminate explicit user scheduling. design analysis show rainbow-link potential candidate latency-critical use cases connectivity. Our results that, given less than 1e-5 probability packet loss, cell, over 1 GHz using 64 element attains sub-millisecond user-plane Mbps rates an approximate 400m line-of-sight coverage density up 5 active per second meter square.

Multiple alignment-free sequence comparison
MOTIVATION Recently, a range of new statistics have become available for the alignment-free comparison of two sequences based on k-tuple word content. Here, we extend these statistics to the simultaneous comparison of more than two sequences. Our suite of statistics contains, first, C(*)1 and C(S)1, extensions of statistics for pairwise comparison of the joint k-tuple content of all the sequenc...
متن کاملA True Time Delay-Steered Conformal Phased Array for Airborne Data Link Applications
Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) and other relatively small airborne platforms are being increasingly pressed into service to perform broadband Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Typically, these smaller platforms do not have enough space for a dish antenna and gimbal mechanism needed for a high-data-rate telemetry link. This paper presents a unique approach to steering a...

Support massive connectivity is an important requirement in 5G wireless communication system. For massive Machine Type Communication (MTC) scenario, since the network is expected to accommodate a massive number of MTC devices with sparse short message, the multiple access scheme like current LTE uplink would not be suitable. In order to reduce the signaling overhead, we consider an grant-free m...
متن کاملGrant-free Multiple Access for Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications in a Large-Scale Antenna System
In this paper, a grant-free multiple access scheme is proposed for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) in a large-scale antenna system. The proposed scheme is designed for URLLC with sporadic uplink traffic characteristics and a statistically delay-optimal resource allocation is performed at the time of each user’s service negotiation. According to the resource allocation, the fra...
